Trip Itinerary

  • Day 1: Departure from USA to Rome.
  • Day 2: Arrival. Visit St. John Lateran, the first Basilica ever to be built in the Roman Empire and the Cathedral of the Bishop of Rome: The Pope. Then off to St. Mary Major around 4:30 pm. St. Mary’s Basilica is the main Basilica dedicated to the Blessed Mother in Rome. We will see the remains of Jesus’ manger, the remains of St. Mathew the Evangelist, and the first icon of the Virgin Mary painted by St. Luke the Evangelist. Back at the Hotel around 5:30 pm. Rest for an hour. Dinner around the hotel area at 6:45 pm, wine included. Long pants or capris throughout the day. Casual dress in the evening. Overnight in Rome.
  • Day 3: Private bus around 7:30 am to the Vatican to experience the 10:00 am Audience with the Pope. We will see the Pope very closely; sometimes we even shake his hand. We will visit St. Peter's in the Vatican, the largest Basilica in the world. See Michelangelo's masterpiece The Pietà. Have lunch and shopping around the area of the Vatican. In the afternoon, we will tour the Sistine Chapel (the Pope's Private Chapel) and the Vatican Museums. Private Bus back to the hotel around 5:30 pm. Rest for an hour. Dinner around the hotel area at 6:45 pm, wine included. Casual Dress throughout the day. Overnight in Rome.
  • Day 4: Leave hotel around 9:30 am by Private bus to go to the Catacombs: The Catacombs are amazing: 500,000 people were buried there from the first centuries of Christianity. We will visit the Spanish Steps.  This is the place where Romans hung out.  Walk to Trevi Fountain for lunch and shopping.  Walk to Pantheon, the oldest functional building in the world and then to the great artistic place of Piazza Navona Dress throughout the day.  Overnight in Rome.
  • Day 5: Check-in downtown Sorrento after visiting the incredible city of Pompeii. Dinner at the hotel area at 6:45 pm: enjoy a delicious Bracciola,wine included. Casual Dress throughout the day. Overnight in Sorrento.
  • Day 6: Visit San Giovanni Rotondo and the Eucharistic Miracle in Lanciano. Overnight in Sorrento.
  • Day 7: En route to Assisi drive through the amazing Amalfi Coast. Check-in to the hotel in Assisi.  
  • Day 8: Tour of Assisi. See the tombs of St. Francis and St. Clare; enjoy a peaceful walk on the streets of Assisi. Dinner and overnight in Assisi. 
  • Day 9: Tour of Florence in the region of Tuscany. Tour of the Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria, the Uffizzi, Michelangelo's masterpiece, The David, Flea Market, Duomo (Cathedral), and the Baptistery. Tour Guide will show to those interested the location of Basilica of San Lorenzo and the Medici Chapel (where the Medici family was buried), and Basilica della Santa Croce (where Michelangelo and 15 other glorious Italian artists and thinkers were buried). Dinner on the way to Padua, wine included. Casual dress throughout the day. Overnight in Padua.
  • Day 10: Tour of Padua. Mass at the Cathedral of St. Anthony of Padua and visit of the Shrine of St. Anthony of Padua with thousands of pilgrims. Dinner and overnight in Padua.
  • Day 11: Tour of Venice: an amazing city built on water. Visit St. Mark’s plaza. Optional: Gondola ride and shopping. Early dinner in Venice 5:00 pm at a local restaurant. Red and white wine included. Long pants if you intend to go inside St. Mark’s. Casual dress if you intend to go on a Gondola ride or spend time shopping and visiting the beautiful streets and bridges of Venice. Overnight in Padua.
  • Day 12: Private bus to Airport and departure back home from Venice.
