Trip Itinerary ~ 12 days

Day 1 – November 4 | Departure:  Depart the United States for Italy. Overnight international flight.

Day 2 – November 5 | Rome – Arrival & First Taste: Arrive in Rome and transfer to your hotel. After a short rest, enjoy a guided panoramic sightseeing tour introducing the Eternal City: exterior views of the Colosseum and Roman Forum, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and Piazza Navona. Dinner and overnight in Rome.

Day 3 – November 6 | Rome – Wedding Day: This morning is intentionally free to allow time for personal preparation, rest, and dressing for the wedding.

Vatican Context – St. Anne’s Church
St. Anne’s Church (Sant’Anna dei Palafrenieri) is the parish church of Vatican City. Located just inside Vatican walls near Porta Sant’Anna, it serves Vatican employees and residents. Celebrating a wedding here places the sacrament within the daily spiritual life of the Holy See itself.

The remainder of the day and evening is dedicated to the wedding celebration. Overnight: Rome.


Day 4 – November 7 | Rome → Puglia: Depart Rome heading south into Puglia, Italy’s great agricultural heartland. Upon arrival, visit a local vineyard for tastings of Primitivo and Negroamaro in Consorzio Produttori Vini in Manduria. Evening hands‑on cooking class at a traditional Masseria Potenti in Manduria, preparing rustic Pugliese dishes. Dinner included. Overnight in Lecce.


Day 5 – November 8 | Puglia – Olive Oil, Cheese & Wine: Visit a working olive oil estate: walk through ancient groves, tour the mill, and enjoy a guided tasting. Late morning burrata and mozzarella‑making experience with tastings in Masseria in Lecce with WePuglia. Afternoon winery visit to Cantina Vecchia Torre in Leverano. Dinner and overnight in Lecce.


Day 6 – November 9 | Puglia – Cooking the Land: Hands‑on Pugliese cooking class focusing on orecchiette, focaccia, and vegetable‑forward dishes at Cerrate abbey. Lunch included. Afternoon wine tastings featuring Primitivo and Negroamaro at Cantine Paolo Leo in San Donaci. Overnight in Lecce.

Day 7 – November 10 | Puglia → Calabria: Travel south into Calabria. Afternoon regional cooking class highlighting bold southern flavors. Evening wine tasting of indigenous Calabrian varietals. Overnight in Tropea.


Day 8 – November 11 | Calabria – Calabrian culinary tradition: Morning cooking class at Aether Suites in Tropea where you can prepare delicius Calabrian dishes. In the afternoon, visit the organic winery in Brattirò and enjoy wine tasting surrounded by vineyards overlooking Capo Vaticano and Tropea. The experience also includes the aperitif. Overnight in Tropea.


Day 9 – November 12 | Calabria → Sicily: Transfer to port and cross to Messina and then drive Taormina, Sicily. Afternoon Sicilian cooking class focusing on local ingredients and regional techniques. Dinner and overnight in Taormina.


Day 10 – November 13 | Sicily – Today we visit Catania and Syracuse. Some sights to enjoy are the Piazza Duomo ~ Elephant Fountain, walk the famous Via Crociferi and the Via Etnea, an elegant street lined with Baroque-style buildings and shops that crosses the city from Piazza Duomo to Piazza Stesicoro where you can see the Vincenzo Bellini Monument, and the imposing Roman Amphitheater. Stop at a local winery for wine tasting. Visit the archaeological area and the famous Greek theater. Visit to the Duomo (Cathedral). The building contains influences from various cultures within its wall: Greek, Byzantine, Arabic. Dinner and oernight in Taormina.


Day 11 – November 14 | Sicily – Farewell Feast: Final hands‑on Sicilian cooking experience bringing together techniques learned throughout the journey. Farewell dinner with wine pairings. Dinner and overnight in Taormina.


Day 12 – November 15 | Return Home: Transfer to the airport and depart Italy for the United States.

  • Guided tours and tour fees ~ Our tour guides are very caring, licensed, and well educated. Many of our guides have their PhDs.
  • Luggage handling (1 suitcase and 1 carry-on per person).
  • Single Supplement: If the passenger wants a guaranteed room of their own, they have to pay $900 for a single supplement. As long as the passenger is willing to room with someone and allows us to provide them with a roommate the single supplement does not apply.
  • Remember: Our trips are not more expensive during high season ~ Passengers will never be expected to pay extra for anything while on the trip.
  • NOTE: If you wish to deepen your knowledge of the Catholic Faith as a preparation for this pilgrimage, we recommend the following book as it is faithful to the teachings of the Magisterium of the Catholic Church (Imprimatur by ARCHBISHOP FELIPE AGUIRRE FRANCO): The Catholic Faith in Easy Terms.   • Call us (855) 842-8001 or register online with a credit card and pay your $500 deposit per person to save your spot. The $500 deposit is part of the total price of the trip.
  • A $1,000 Additional Deposit (AD) per person is due one month from the registration. The AD is paid ONLY in the form of check (personal, money order, or bank check).
  • The balance is due 4 months before the trip departure date. The balance is paid ONLY in the form of check (personal, money order, or bank check).
