  • All breakfasts and all dinners. Dinners take place at upscale restaurants not at the hotel. (Except in the Holy Land, at the Shrines, or when there is a long day of travel and the circumstances necessitate it.) Wine included with all dinners.
  • All tips to driver, hotel, and tour guide.
  • Guided Tours and Tour Fees ~ Our tour guides are very caring, licensed, and well educated. Many of our guides have their PhD's.
  • Luggage handling (1 suitcase and 1 carry-on per person)
  • Single Supplement (as long as the passengers is willing to room with someone and allows us to provide them with a roommate. If the passenger wants a guaranteed room to of their own, then they have to pay the $900 single supplement)
  • Remember: Passengers will never be expected to pay extra for anything while on the trip ~ We always wait for passengers and never leave anyone behind.

Steps for Registration

  1. Call us (855) 842-8001 or register online with a credit card and pay your $500 deposit per person to save your spot. The $500 deposit is part of the total price of the trip
  2. A $1,000 Airfare Deposit (AD) per person is due one month from the registration. The AD is paid ONLY in the form of Check (personal, money order, or bank check)
  3. The balance is due June 29. The balance is paid ONLY in the form of Check (personal, money order, or bank check).

Hotels listed below are our preferred hotels. If reservations cannot be made at one or more of these locations, a comparable hotel will be reserved. We only use 4 or 5 star accommodations.

Trip Itinerary

    October 28: Departure from USA.

    October 29: Arrival. Visit Basilica of St. Paul outside the Wall where the body of St. Paul is buried. It is the 2nd largest basilica in Rome and the 5th in the world. Check in the hotel and rest for a few hours. In the afternoon, our private bus will take us to the town where the Pope’s Summer Residence is located: the charming Castel Gandolfo with its spectacular Lake Albano. Awesome place just like those towns you see on TV. Opening night dinner at 6:00 pm at a local upscale restaurant: eat where the Italians eat. Several courses of delicious Italian food. Casual dress. Overnight in Rome.

    October 30:Visit the Colosseum in the morning. The Colosseum, the symbol of the city of Rome, is a great building that has been standing since 80 A.D. Visit Chiesa del Gesù, mother church of the Jesuits. Our next stop is St. John Lateran, the first Basilica ever to be built in the Roman Empire. We’ll stop for lunch (on your own) at Cecelia Matella on our way to visit the St Callsitus Catacombs. The Catacombs are breathtaking. 500,000 people were buried there. There will be an optional excursion to the Porta Portese Flea Market today. Let your tour guide if you want to go. Back at the hotel around 5:30 pm. Rest for an hour. Dinner at Abruzzi Restaurant. Overnight in Rome.

    October 31: Start the day by visiting St. Mary Major, the main Basilica dedicated to Mary in Rome. We will see the remains of Jesus’ manger, the tomb of Bernini, the remains of St. Matthew the Evangelist, the tomb of St. Jerome, and the oldest icon in the world of the Virgin Mary painted by St. Luke: the famous Salus Populi Romani. We will visit the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel (the Pope's private Chapel) and St. Peter's in the Vatican, the largest Basilica in the world. Long pants, capris, or skirts below the knee, shoulders covered. Our private bus will take us to enjoy a wine tasting and free time in Santa Maria in Trastevere, the most famous quarter of Rome for its beauty and quaintness. Dinner and overnight in Rome.

    November 1: Visit the Roman Forum. See the Arch of Constantine, the Via Sacra, Arch of Titus, the Temple of Venus and Rome, etc. Casual dress throughout the day. In the afternoon, visit the Capuchin crypt which is a small space comprising several tiny chapels located beneath the church of Santa Maria della Concezione dei Cappuccini near the Via Veneto which is close to the Piazza Barberini. It contains the skeletal remains of 4,000 bodies believed to be Capuchin friars buried by their order. Dinner and overnight in Rome.

    November 2: Private bus around 7:30 am to the Vatican to experience the 10:00 am Audience with the Pope. We will see the Pope very closely; sometimes we even shake his hand. From here we will go to Castle San Angelo. Next, we will visit the Spanish Steps. This is the place where the Romans hung out. Walk to Trevi Fountain for lunch and shopping. Walk to Pantheon, the oldest functional building in the world and then to the great artistic place of Piazza Navona around 4:30 pm. Visit the church of St. Agnes for Mass. Dinner at Piazza Navona. After dinner stop by the Steeler Bar in the area. Casual dress throughout the day. Overnight in Rome.

    November 3: Our private bus brings us to Rome to fly back to USA.

    Please note: We do our best to ensure that all sites listed in this itinerary will be seen. However, due to scheduling conflicts, or other circumstances beyond our control, sites may be visited on a different day than listed. If this happens it will also necessitate a change in the restaurant for dinner. However, we will never sacrifice the quality of the meal, all restaurants will meet Proximo Travel's very high standards.
