Trip Itinerary ~ 12 Days
Day 1: Departure from the USA to Rome.
Day 2: Arrival in Rome. Visit the Basilica of St. Paul outside the Wall where the body of St. Paul is buried. It is the 2nd largest basilica in Rome and the 5th in the world. In the afternoon, we will be St. John Lateran, the first Basilica ever to be built in the Roman Empire and the Cathedral of the Bishop of Rome, the Pope. Dinner and overnight in Rome.
Day 3: We will have an early start as our private bus takes us to the Vatican to experience the Audience with the Pope. Scavi tour. Tour St. Peter's in the Vatican, the largest Basilica in the world that hosts the remains of the Vicar of Christ, St. Peter. Long pants, capris, or skirts below the knee will be required and shoulders should be covered. Dinner and overnight in Rome.
Day 4: Tour of the Colosseum from the outside, a great building that has been standing since 80 A.D. Proceed to the Roman Forum (including Mamertine Prison). Continue to San Clemente. Then off to the Spanish Steps known for the area where the Romans gathered to meet followed by a walk to the Trevi Fountain. We will continue on from there to tour the Pantheon from the outside, the oldest functional building in the world. We will conclude by visiting the great artistic Piazza Navona, the elegant "living room" of Rome. Dinner and overnight in Rome.
Day 5: En route to Assisi stop in Greccio, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Visit the Santuario Francescano del Presepe, Cappella Santuario Francescana, Church of St Michael the Archangel, and the Church of St. Mary of Giglio. Continue to Assisi. Visit the Eremo degli Carcere, Santa Maria degli Angeli, and the Porziuncola where the Franciscan movement started. Dinner and overnight in Assisi.
Day 6: Spend a full day in Assisi taking in the tranquility of the mountain village. We will see the tombs of St. Francis, St. Clare, and the body of Carlo Acutis. Enjoy the deep peace of Assisi. Dinner and overnight in Assisi.
Day 7: Enjoy a tour and wine tasting of Montepulcino (land of the vino Nobile di Montepulciano) and Montalcino (land of the famous Brunello). Dinner and overnight in Siena.
Day 8: Tour of Siena. We will visit this beautiful medieval city with its center gathered within ancient walls which hold beautiful monuments and museums. We will also visit the Piazza del Campo, Palazzo Comunale and Torre del Mangia, and visit the Duomo which is a majestic example of Romanesque-Gothic Style. Dinner and overnight in Siena.
Day 9: Visit San Gimignano known for its many towers; seven of its towers are around the Piazza del Duomo. Dinner and overnight in Florence.
Day 10: Tour of Florence in the region of Tuscany. Tour of the Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio, the Uffizzi, open air Market, Duomo (Cathedral), the Baptistery, Michelangelo's masterpiece, the David. Visit the Basilica of San Lorenzo and the Medici Chapel (where the Medici family was buried). Casual dress throughout the day. Dinner and overnight in Florence.
Day 11: On this day we will visit Pisa with its Leaning Tower. Proceed to Lucca which is a city on the Serchio River in Italy's Tuscany region. It's known for the well-preserved Renaissance walls encircling its historic city center and its cobblestone streets which are popular for strolling. Dinner and overnight in Rome.
Day 12: Fly back home.

- Single Supplement: If the passenger wants a guaranteed room of their own, they have to pay $1,200 for a single supplement. As long as the passenger is willing to room with someone and allows us to provide them with a roommate the single supplement does not apply.
- Remember: Our trips are not more expensive during high season ~ Passengers will never be expected to pay extra for anything while on the trip.

- Call us (855) 842-8001 or register online with a credit card and pay your $500 deposit per person to save your spot. The $500 deposit is part of the total price of the trip.
- A $1,000 Additional Deposit (AD) per person is due one month from the registration. The AD is paid ONLY in the form of check (personal, money order, or bank check).
- The balance is due 4 months before the trip departure date. The balance is paid ONLY in the form of check (personal, money order, or bank check).

Please note: We do our best to ensure that all sites listed in this itinerary will be seen. However, due to scheduling conflicts, or other circumstances beyond our control, sites may be visited on a different day than listed. If this happens it will also necessitate a change in the restaurant for dinner. However, we will never sacrifice the quality of the meal, all restaurants will meet Proximo Travel's very high standards. Since we have several different trip configurations touring at the same time, it is likely that groups on different tours will be combined when their itineraries overlap in certain areas.
