  • Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Departure from USA to Lyons or Geneva.

Day 2: Arrival in Ars and the beginning of our retreat with Fr. Brett Brannen. Retreat Theme: May God Who Has Begun This Good Work in You Bring it to Fulfillment! Description: These words, from the Rite of Ordination, describe the reality that ordination is not emancipation from formation. A priest is always striving to grow into the child of God and the priest of God that he is called to be. Working himself to the bone for others, a priest can allow things to get out of balance and to neglect to work on himself. “The only success recognized by God is Christ-likeness.” (Pope St. John Paul II). Dinner and overnight in Ars.

Day 3: Ars retreat (2 Conferences a day and daily Mass). Dinner and overnight in Ars.

Day 4: Ars retreat (2 Conferences a day and daily Mass). Dinner and overnight in Ars.

Day 5: Ars retreat (2 Conferences a day and daily Mass). Dinner and overnight in Ars.

Day 6: Ars retreat (2 Conferences a day and daily Mass). Dinner and overnight in Ars.

Day 8: Lourdes for the whole day. Mass in Lourdes. This pilgrimage was designed for those who would like to spend more time in Lourdes, to pray and reflect. You will have time to pray with your fellow pilgrims and pilgrims from around the world, to attend Mass at the Grotto, watch a video presentation telling the story of Lourdes, and walk in the footsteps of St. Bernadette. Dinner and overnight in Lourdes.

Day 9: Fly to Paris. Arrival in Paris and enjoy some free time in Paris. Dinner and overnight in Paris.

IMPORTANT NOTE about Fr Brett: Fr. Brett Brannen was ordained a priest in 1991 for the Diocese of Savannah, where he served as vocation director (10 years) and as a pastor of five different parishes. From 2005- 2011, he was the vice-rector of Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, MD. Fr. Brannen has preached numerous retreats for priests, as well as retreats for vocation candidates and seminarians. He has also preached many parish missions. He teaches at the Institute for Priestly Formation in Omaha and with The Theology of the Body Institute (TOB and the Identity of the Diocesan Priest). He is the author of “To Save a Thousand Souls: A Guide for Discerning a Vocation to Diocesan Priesthood” (2010) and “A Priest in the Family: A Guide for Parents Whose Sons are Considering Priesthood” (2014). Fr. Brannen is currently the pastor of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Savannah, Ga.

Please note: We do our best to ensure that all sites listed in this itinerary will be seen. However, due to scheduling conflicts, or other circumstances beyond our control, sites may be visited on a different day than listed. If this happens it will also necessitate a change in the restaurant for dinner. However, we will never sacrifice the quality of the meal, all restaurants will meet Proximo Travel's very high standards. Since we have several different trip configurations touring at the same time, it is likely that groups on different tours will be combined when their itineraries overlap in certain areas.
