June 20 - Day 1: Depart Norfolk (ORF) airport to fly to Lisbon, Portugal.
June 21 - Day 2: Upon arrival on the way to Porto, stop in Aveiro, explore Museu de Aveiro and visit St Joan of Portugal's tomb. Stop at the Church of the Patron Saint of Aveiro, Capela de Sao Goncalinho, where you can enjoy viewing the city's canals. Stop at the Covento de Santo Antonio Church--rare twin churches joined by an archway. Lunch on your own, wine tasting before dinner. Free evening to explore the city and bridge over River. Overnight in Porto.
June 22 - Day 3: Douro Valley Cruise and lunch (included) on the cruise in Porto. Visit Clérigos Church and Clérigos Tower, Harry Potter Book Store, Church Ildefonso, Igreja de Carmo, and Church of St. Francis. Celebrate Mass. Celebrate Mass, Dinner on your own and overnight in Porto.
June 23 - Day 4: Travel to Fatima, Batalha Monastery, Alcobaca Monastery, Chapel of St. Michael in Coimbra, and old Cathedral of Coimbra. Free time in the late afternoon. Celebrate Mass then dinner as a group, overnight in Fatima.
June 24 - Day 5: Full day in Fatima. Start off the day by going to Mass at the Little Chapel of the Apparitions. You will see the Basilica, the site of Francesco and Jacinta's graves, the Hamlet of Aljustrel, where the children lived, and Valinhos, the site of Our Lady's appearance after the children's return from prison. Experience Christ's love as you walk and pray the Stations of the Cross along the Via Sacra culminating in the Chapel of Calvary, which overlooks all of Fatima. Join pilgrims from around the world in an evening candlelight procession to pray the rosary for the sick and drink water from the miraculous well. Celebrate Mass and time for private devotions/Reconciliation before dinner and overnight in Fatima.
June 25 - Day 6: Depart for Lisbon with a stop in Santarem and visit Eucharistic miracle of St. Stephen, have Mass in the main church, visit overlook park with great views, Convent of Christ in Tomar and Castelo de Tomar. Lunch on your own with free time before we depart for Lisbon. Dinner and overnight in Lisbon.
June 26 - Day 7: Morning mass at the Basilica da Estrela, the Lisbon Cathedral, Church of São Vicente of Fora, St. Anthony, tour the cathedral and St. Jerome Monastery, then cruise on river with dinner before. Dinner and overnight in Lisbon.
June 27 - Day 8: Travel to southern coast of Portugal for Benagil sea cave tour/boat ride, Church of São Lourenço, Lagos old town, visit Cape St. Vincent and Sagres, dinner and overnight in the area.
June 28 - Day 9: Visit Jesus Statue, St. George Castle and full tour of the city of Lisbon. Dinner and overnight in Lisbon.
June 29 - Day 10: Depart for USA.
Please note: We do our best to ensure that all sites listed in this itinerary will be seen. However, due to scheduling conflicts, or other circumstances beyond our control, sites may be visited on a different day than listed. If this happens it will also necessitate a change in the restaurant for dinner. However, we will never sacrifice the quality of the meal, all restaurants will meet Proximo Travel's very high standards. Since we have several different trip configurations touring at the same time, it is likely that groups on different tours will be combined when their itineraries overlap in certain areas.
